Where- Art and Frame of Sarasota 1055 S. Tamiami Trail Sarasota. The art store is a safe environment just south of the old Sarasota High School at the Saba Plaza on US 41 in Sarasota. Description- Ages 8 and up are welcome to join anytime. Learn to draw, illustrate and make cartoons. It’s a fun and young class. Most of the students are 12-17 years old and very talented. Don’t worry, adults fit in fine at whatever talent level. You will need Basic drawing materials. A Sketch Pad, a 2B and HB led pencil and a kneaded eraser. All of which may be purchased at the store. Class cost $10 and you can drop in anytime but call ahead to be sure that the class is going on that week. Michael has other commitments every now and again. Adult Studio Class
Every Tuesday Night from 6:30-9pm at a private home near the Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Come and work on anything you want to and I'll crack and whip and guide you through the process. Once I know what you are interested in I'll prepare lessons just for you. I have extensive experience in all areas of illustration and fine art. The class has teens and adults in it and is designed to accommodate beginners and advanced artist. the best news is it's only $15 per class and you can come anytime. ‘Wildacres’ Retreat in NC - "The Dramatic Art of Drawing in Color" (2010)
When- July 18th - 24th and October 25th - 31st
Where- At ‘Wildacres’ in Little Switzerland N.C. the Blue Ridge Mountains
Description- “This is an exceptional week of art no matter what class you take. Also it’s cheap!!!!! We meet for my class every morning and have the afternoon to hike, sleep, tour, or make more art. My studio pretty much goes 24 hours a day since I’m a night owl. The fall leafs are spectacular at this time and all you do is eat and make art along with a lot of other artists who will make you feel like family. If I didn’t teach it I’d pay to go. Sign up almost a year ahead to be sure you get in. Space is limited and in demand. Like I said, it’s cheap!!!!!!!!! You won’t regret going!”

Caricaturing Workshop "the Art of Funny"
(2010)
When- March 7th, 2010 10AM - 4:30PM Sunday
Where- Ringling School of Art 2700 N. tamiami Trail Sarasota FL.
Description- See what has gone before and get all the how-to secrets of cartooning as an art form. You’ll learn how to draw faces, exaggerate them and what to do next. The class gets into drawing bodies and captions but mostly dwells on getting a likeness. Fast paced and fun but requires focus.

Comic Strip Development

Description- come learn how to create and put together your own original comic strips. Start from scratch as a beginner or come with experience and let me crack a whip on ya and make sure you finish something.

Passionate Pastel Workshop in Atlanta!

Cost- $175
Description- This fun and high energy workshop will focus on painting and drawing the things you love. Using photo references, students will be guided through the process of creating professional images. Composition, color, design, style and 'tricks of the trade' will be revealed and reviewed. Students of all levels will enjoy this class. Michael teaches at Ringling School of Art in Florida, and has experience with students of every age and artistic level. Students should plan to come to class with soft pastels and their own original photo reference of people, animals, places and/or things that they love.
Tuesday Night Pastel and Painting Group
When- Every Tuesday starting 6:30 - 9:30pm
Where- at a private home off of Floyd St. in Sarasota near the Hospital
Description- I instruct an intimate group of artists working on their own projects who gather to make art and socialize. Space very limited. Cost $15per session * Pay $60 for 4 sessions
